hitex inspection and audit trail
Hitex follow a rigorous audit process to ensure compliance is met on every completed project.
The six step process is;
1. Timber Frame Inspection.
The Hitex foreman or Hitex Registered Applicator will inspect the project 10-14 days out from the cladding commencement to check and discuss various items with the builder.
For example
OSH Safety in place |
Nogging/Internal corners and soffit |
Stop ends – leave lead, butynol 100mm past |
Scaffolding layout and timing |
Mid floor timber alignment |
Protruding beams and mounting plates |
Window flashings organised |
Windows arrive when |
Timber straightness (visual) |
etc |
This ensures the builder and applicator are working in sync for the benefit of the project.
2. Ready to Start Inspection.
The foreman or applicator will return to site 3 days before cladding commencement to conduct a final check to ensure all is ready.
This may entail checking:-
Slab and bottom plate alignment |
Ground lines confirmed |
Roof flashings installed |
Stop ends installed |
Scaffolding OK and complete |
Mid floor moisture content |
Window flashings on site |
Windows installed |
Soffits installed |
etc |
The Hitex sheets can now be fixed with confidence.
3. Fixing Release Certificate.
Once the fixing of the Hitex sheets is complete, the signing off process is done involving the fixer (to indicate the fixing has been installed correctly) and the plasterer (indicating they are happy to accept the fixing). The plastering can now commence.
4. Final Release Certificate.
On completion of the plastering, a final release is done confirming the work has been completed in accordance with the contract, all items have been left clean, waste is ready for removal and the work can now be handed over to the client.
5. Hitex Works Compliance Record.
At the time of Final Release, a Works Compliance Record is completed confirming:
the type of Hitex system used |
compliance with Hitex Trade Practice, eg: |
ground clearances
flashings used
penetrations
etc
compliance with certain segments of NZ Building Code |
This document can be forwarded to council as confirmation of compliance and placed on LIM Report.
6. Warranty of Fitness.
At this point the Hitex Audit Manager visits the site and reconfirms that the works have complied with Hitex Trade Practice requirements at the time of inspection.
The items checked include
materials supplied |
stop ends to decks/roofs installed |
window flashings installed |
protrusions and penetrations sealed |
parapet tops installed with correct specifications |
If all of the above is correct and complete then the Hitex Warranty and Hitex Maintenance Manual may be issued.
